A Knight’s Errand (For Suzanne.)

The road was long, the journey tough.

I thought I wasn't good enough.

And as I wandered along my way,

Striving to find peace, from the day.

Then by chance, inside a wood,

I spied a clearing, where a maiden stood.

Smiling sweetly, beckoning to me.

She was a picture of tranquillity.

Come hither sir. Tarry awhile,

Take some comfort, in my smile.

I went to her, to take some rest.

She placed my head, upon her breast.

Her beautiful eyes were full of fire.

Seeking out my heart's desire.

And as I rested, in that place.

I looked into her angelic face.

My tales of woe, I told to her,

And of guilt’ that I can't bear.

I have two lovers this is true.

The maiden I love the most is you!
