Earthlore - The Bard's Song

From the dawn of time nature has ruled us,

Her wisdom and lore whispered by the trees.

Passed down to the druids, who, in turn, could guide us,

With sacred knowledge, that floats on the breeze.

Fear not the druids, for they are the teachers,

Who understand nature and mortal man's needs.

And we are the pupils in the college of nature,

To absorb the lessons, like germinating seeds.

To learn of the good, that in all things abound.

And pass on the wisdom to our kith and kin.

To live in harmony, as each cycle comes round,

To praise not chide, and live free from sin.

To be selfless and true, to sister and brother,

And repair all the damage that starts from within.

The druids our fathers, the earth our mother,

Without whose nurturing no life could begin.

Mother Nature decreed the part that we play,

To order the balance within her great plan.

To live in peace from day to day;

Respect what we don't understand.

And so we progress from youth to old age,

Like the fruits of the field, we ripen and die.

The story continues as we turn over the page,

So we can unfetter our spirit, and then let it fly.

And fly it must, back to the heart of the sun,

To rejoin, and atone, for any erroneous ways;

If errors occurred, then rebirth will come,

And strive for purity, for the rest of our days.

Hearken to the wind that turns the leaves,

Life’s secrets will soon be made clear.

Hearken to the breeze, and whispering trees,

For the druids will always be near.
