Kaz's Poem

(For Carole M. Humphries)

My eyes have misted over,
They shed their silent tears.
For feelings that I have for you,
That have lasted through the years.
If you give our love the chance,
So happy we could be.
And though you are so far away,
I feel you close to me.

I surrender up my heart to you,
For you, my life I'd give.
To take and hold you in my arms,
Is the reason, why I live!
I've missed you more than you would know,
For you my heart still yearns.
And deep within my tortured soul,
A raging passion burns.

Those Maltese days, when first we met,
So quickly flew on by.
Alas, you weren't around that long,
So you never did see me cry
But tears were shed for you my love
Not knowing we'd meet again.
But when you left to go back home
For me that was a strain.

I miss you greatly everyday
You're never out of my mind
And if we met years before
You certainly would be mine
So as a token my heart I gave
Carved in your favourite stone
I gave it you so you would know
That you'll never be alone
