Sir Crow and the Lady Lynn

I walk the byways and paths of despair

I’ve tainted the life of the one who cared

I’ve taken my sword clove my heart in two

One half I shall keep the others for you

I’ve hurt you to much so now I must stand

Alone and unloved a self condemned man

Our life together must now come to an end

Dead as in living I’ll love you my friend

Now I must wander alone with my shame

I know that my life will not be the same

And all that is left is pain in my heart

I never foresaw the day that we would part

Though we are parted I’m waiting to see

If we’ll ever meet through eternity

If ever we do ‘til, then I shall pray

To be more compassionate in every way

Ten lifetimes ago you promised to me

As I lay dying ‘Neath old oaken tree

Though this life may end like leaves in the fall

I’ll find you my darling our love conquers all

With hands on my heart exposed on my breast

You looked in my eyes I drew my last breath

As I departed I called out to you

Though I must leave now I’ll always be true

So I must withdraw again from your side

I leave in disgrace bereft of all pride

I now ask the Gods to watch over you

For no-one on earth was ever as true

Again if we meet in some future time

I ask you remember this old heart of mine

It longs to be whole with you once again

For you who were once my only true friend
